Diplomacy
is supposed to be the art of politics. And diplomacy is supposed
to be very eclectic in choosing the words that are uttered.
More important here diplomacy is supposed to help politicians
to come out safely from a crisis.
But
there are moments when diplomacy fails drastically. Diplomacy
after all is human creation, and likewise it is bound to fail.
And simply when a diplomat is bound to fail then the whole
political system will fail. There are many examples of these
historical moments when both a diplomat and his political
system fail. Perhaps it is the case of the Japanese ambassador
to the United States, is very clear during the World War Two.
When Japan attacked pearl Harbour the Japanese ambassador
to the United States was called y president Eisenhower to
explain the meaning behind this aggression, the Japanese ambassador
failed tremendously in his task of diplomacy. For both the
president and the American people were not convinced. It was
a clear failure of diplomacy.
