The closer verb for the word Erase is the word to ignore. But then there is a different meaning for the word to ignore. This word is a combination of two words just like saying to enliven a period of memory. One here is able to ignore everything in a voluntary gesture.

Since it is as such then even memory could be erased in totality. In a direct sense to be erased is something that not only could be ignored or for that matter it has no relation to any human being. In any way this verb to be ignored and to be erased is no more than a figment of imagination and for that matter it could be non-existing. In summation it is a useless word.
