This is a strange word for it could be substituted with another word just like the word went. It does have the same meaning also. One can note here that the word gone will be neglected. At the same time there is no direct opposite word for this word. For example one can say that he or she came but there is no past tense for come or came. The word came in the past tense could be used only for certain things. But gone could be used for everything.

Gone is used for anything that will disappear for example here the word gone is associated with the wind for one could say that gone with the wind. Yet it will not suffice here to used gone in thought process in singular. This term gone will not be used also in plural note for example it cannot be said that they are all gone.
