The
Arab world dos have its own shy and silent personalities.
During his youth he was very active in practical terms. His
basic worry as a young Arab was the question of Palestine
and Arab unity at large here but this two task were of great
importance top anybody who had decided to undergo this task.
And Hani Al-Hindi did not care at all about his personal existence
as such. Therefore he and the others of colleagues under American
University of Beirut created what became known as a Popular
liberation of Palestine. And he was in charge of many affairs.
Concerning the question of Palestine in his youth he was very
active and had many contacts all over the weld but above all
he was an intellectual of a different kind. In practical terms
he knew beforehand that the life of his was arduous and demanded
many things in one's life but Hani Al-Hindi was not a Communist.
He was a Nationalist and very close decision make in the Arab
World. In particular he was a close friend of the Egyptian
leader called Jamal Abdal Nassir who valued this companionship
very highly in his life. In being active in practical terms
Hani Al-Hindi's life was in danger but he was very tired of
being in politics therefore he decided to go to Cyprus with
his family to reside there. And then he gangs of terror of
Israel were behind him. And one day while he was mounting
his car an explosion came into his car and Hani Al-Hindi lost
one of his arms and part of his eyes and there were scars
of terror all over his face and he thought by this time that
the Israelis were behind all this matter. He was taken to
hospital. A very powerful personality and meaningful personality
in his life that one has to pay attention to his experiences
as an intellectual and nothing more. Because this was what
Hani Al-Hindi was known about and while in hospital this clown
called Yasser Arafat arrived to his bedside in the hospital
but Hani Al-Hindi did come out from the hospital out of anger
and the clown left without any message to carry with him.
He
decided to devote his life publishing books and magazines
and in this particular field he was supreme. He paid attention
to two particular developments in the world. The first was
China the second was the literary movement in Latin America
and in particular the author who was called Gabriel Marquis
who was not a communist but yet the same time he was a Nationalist
and he wrote the best thing about the military rule around
the world and in particular in Latin America.
In
one day at his office in Beirut Lebanon he met such a strange
person from the Arabian peninsula who devoted his life to
write about China and Hani Al-Hindi was impressed and the
two met several times and had different kind of topics to
talk about and Hani Al-Hindi was eager to learn about China.
Their friendship grew by time. And this type of friendship
was sincere and Hani Al-Hindi went to China and he enjoyed
going there but his health wasn't able to carry out whatever
he wanted to learn from China. And he came back with a golden
memory of China. In the protest he published the best ever
about the war in the Arab world or outside of it. There was
only one worry from him and this worry was circled around
Arab dictators. And he pointed out basically the dictators.
And he pointed out basically the dictatorship of Iraq of Saddam
Hussein. And once through his life lying upon his knowledge
of Arab history as such.
