These two words originated from the French language and in turn were taken from the Greek language, which was based on Plato's writings. These two words connate the meaning of a dead affair. More precisely an affair, which is dead, does mean that such an affair is basically either trivial or meaningless. But contemporary meaning of passing affairs had surrounded the meaning of part of a love affair, but such a combination of a passing affair and a passing love is no more than a period in human life that has no meaning. At the same time a passing affair is only applied to human beings. But no other animals, for it will not be applicable for example to snakes or lions.
