This
word is a gentle word for boundary. It is basically a western
word. However the word boundary is a legal term for a state
name. Whereas the word premises is used for the boundary of
domicile or residence or a farm or a ranch, etc. the word premise
will not be used for moral issues, for there are other words.
Perhaps the Spanish have a better name for a house and its premises
for they call it as haciendas. This term refer to both the house
and the garden or better yet the farm.
